Interior Renovation and Addition

A turn-of-the-century townhouse in Jersey City underwent a much-needed interior intervention and addition, bringing the space up to date for the modern family.
The entire basement was gutted, and the slab was lowered to create a more spacious open kitchen and adjoining dining room. A complete remodel of the basement bathroom introduced textured black tiles, wood accents, and an integrated steam shower, transforming what was once a basic space into a rich, relaxing retreat.
By aligning the rear wall with the adjacent building, the top-floor master suite was expanded. A 9-foot-long floor-to-ceiling closet was added, alongside a full renovation of the master bathroom. Natural light now floods the space through a new skylight, while soffit LED lighting provides a soft, welcoming ambiance at night. The master suite was designed with a softer palette of light tiles and natural bamboo to evoke a calming, spa-like atmosphere.
