This building, located across from our 382 E 159th St project, harmoniously combines the traditional urban fill approach with the detailing and innovation of modern design. The apartment layouts are thoughtfully planned, with large windows that flood the interiors with an abundance of natural light, enhancing the sense of space and connection to the surrounding environment.
A central aspect of this project is the choice of materials, which plays a pivotal role in defining its character. The brick cladding was selected for its durability and directional texture, contributing both to the building’s aesthetic and its long-term performance. The grey brick creates a distinct contrast against the predominantly red and monochrome palette of the neighborhood, giving the building a unique presence while still respecting its context.
Wood elements have been strategically incorporated throughout the design, from the building’s entry to the bay window, and up to the top of the structure. These warm, natural accents soften the overall appearance, creating an inviting atmosphere that enhances the area. At the same time, the combination of materials and detailing provides a strong and cohesive identity for the building, allowing it to stand out as a modern yet contextually sensitive addition to the neighborhood.
