The Roosevelt Project is a transformative 5-tower complex located in Plainfield, designed to enhance the quality of urban living while promoting sustainable, mixed-use development. Comprising approximately 1,144 residential units, the complex offers a range of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, all situated just a 10-minute walk from the Plainfield station, providing easy access to public transportation.

Each of the Roosevelt towers stands 14 stories high, with the first two stories dedicated to parking and commercial spaces. These are accessed from the street level on the train side, while the pedestrian street side features retail spaces that open onto a public plaza. The upper floors are reserved for multifamily housing, with thoughtfully designed amenities and open recreational spaces designed to foster a strong sense of community for residents.

The design of the Roosevelt towers places particular emphasis on the upper floors, from the sixth to the fourteenth. Here, the façades feature stacked terraces, creating a dynamic and diagonal stepping effect that brings a unique rhythm and movement to the building’s exterior. The apartments on these levels are clad in a combination of glass and wood panels. The use of wood is more pronounced here compared to the lower levels, where glass predominates, providing a warm contrast to the sleek, modern aesthetic.

Additionally, a clear distinction is made between the façades facing the plaza and those facing the exterior of the lot. The overlapping volumes inside the complex are clad in glass and wood panels, designed to contrast with the more neutral white grid façade that envelops the building. This approach ensures that while the interior spaces are accentuated by the movement of the terraces, the exterior maintains a harmonious relationship with the surrounding neighborhood, avoiding any abrupt disruptions to the urban fabric.

A key feature of the design is the integration of public and private spaces. The first and second floors set back from the building’s edge, creating open public recreational spaces that connect directly to the plaza. The stepping terraces and setbacks from the third to the sixth floors further enhance the residents’ access to outdoor space, providing private balconies and open areas for relaxation.

The Roosevelt complex embodies the concept of blending suburban living with urban density, offering a mix of living, working, and entertainment spaces. Its design creates an inviting and vibrant community, with an emphasis on accessibility, functionality, and sustainable urban development. The project sets a new standard for modern urban living in Plainfield, promoting connectivity and well-being for its residents.
