Located in a rapidly developing neighborhood, this project aims to deliver a mixed-use building that incorporates affordable housing, balancing functionality with design. The design intent focused on maximizing the use of available square footage while ensuring a comfortable and welcoming living environment for residents.
To enhance the living experience, the floor plates above the ground floor were extended outward, creating volumes that project from the building. This thoughtful approach not only allows for more natural light to penetrate deep into the living spaces but also effectively expands the footprint of each unit, offering more spacious interiors.
The façade design carefully references the architectural character of its neighboring buildings while introducing a modern aesthetic. Affordable, yet durable materials such as brick and corrugated metal were selected and applied with intention to elevate their appearance, creating a contemporary feel that complements the surrounding urban fabric. The result is a building that provides both functional living spaces and a visually appealing addition to the neighborhood, demonstrating that affordable housing can be both practical and attractive.
