Wooden Box House
Area:
2,800 SF
Location:
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Project Status:
/
Project Type:
Family-Home
This project is conceived around the separation of two volumes across two distinct levels, creating a modern take on the traditional Argentinian veranda. The upper wooden box cantilevers over the lower level, forming a modern veranda that serves as a buffer between the interior and exterior, while also functioning as a communal gathering space.
Inside, the design plays with light and shadow, utilizing walls that vary between open and closed, from transparent to solid. The private upper level is sheltered by wooden screens that adjust in density, offering privacy while allowing for ventilation and natural light. The warm tone of the wood adds a tactile and inviting quality to the space.
