The competition proposal for the new concert hall in Vilnius addresses the city's current lack of a world-class venue for symphony music, aiming to create a structure that not only meets international acoustical and capacity standards but also integrates seamlessly with the natural environment. With the need for both a small (500 seats) and a main (1,500 seats) concert hall, as well as space for galleries and cultural exhibitions, the design focuses on both function and aesthetic harmony.

The building's concept is inspired by the natural landscape, with a fluid form that emerges organically from the terrain. Sitting atop a hill, the concert hall becomes a visual landmark, akin to a "jewel" nestled within the surrounding landscape. This form is not just for aesthetic purposes—it also plays a crucial role in enhancing the acoustics of the performance spaces, creating an ideal environment for symphonic music.

The open plan design of the building allows for versatility, accommodating a variety of activities beyond concerts. This adaptability ensures that the venue can host different events and exhibitions when concerts are not scheduled, making it a dynamic cultural hub for the city.

The design emphasizes a seamless transition between the interior and exterior spaces, blurring the boundaries between the building and its natural surroundings. Large, transparent areas open up the concert halls to the magnificent views of the surrounding landscape, allowing the architecture to become part of the environment and creating an inviting space for both performance and public engagement. This connection to nature not only enhances the experience for concertgoers but also helps establish the building as a symbol of the city's cultural identity.
